Franschhoek by Tram

Franschhoek by Tram

By far the best way to explore the Franschhoek valley and its excellent wine estates is by tram. The Franschhoek Wine Tram takes away all the stress of driving and navigating a wine route and allows you sit
back and be safely transported from estate to estate along the Wine Tram’s extensive route, which connects 24 wine estates.

The Franschhoek Wine Tram’s hop-on-hop-off experience allows you to choose between eight routes
traversing the Franschhoek Valley. Trams have been custom-built for the experience and feature single-decker trams along some of the routes, as well as double-decker trams modelled after vintage
Blackpool Corporation Double Deck Balcony Tramcars.

Trams depart from either the Franschhoek Terminal or the Groot Drakenstein Terminal between 09h30
and 13h30 every day. Wine purchased during the experience can be handed to the estate’s wine host for
collection later in the day to avoid lugging bottles on the tram.

We highly recommend reading up on the different tram routes online in order to choose the best experience for your day. Tickets can be purchased online to ensure availability on the day:
