Maison Chablis focuses on Sustainability

The concept of sustainability in tourism and the term Responsible Travel, was coined right here in South Africa at the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Cape Town in 2002. This concept focuses on minimizing the negative economic, environmental, and social impact of tourism and instead makes positive contributions to local communities, cultural heritage and conservation.

Maison Chablis Guest House is committed to improving its sustainability and constantly takes stock of the impact it has on its environment. The guest house has introduced the following initiatives to improve its sustainability:
